NEWS - Coroner Looks at Motorcycle Fatalities

It advised that the province of BC saw 286 motorcycle-related deaths on our highways between 2000 and 2007. As a result, the BC Coroner's Service convened a Death Review Panel to examine the increasing frequency of serious collisions. The panel made recommendations to prevent loss of life in similar circumstances.

Of Course He Has a Driver's Licence

As I sat down, I saw a middle aged woman indicate a young man to the clerk and comment something to the effect of "at least he has a valid driver's licence." I guessed that this was going to be an interesting conversation.

The Driver Improvement Program

BC LogoThe Driver Improvement Program sounds like something designed to increase a driver's skills and make them a safer, more accomplished operator of a motor vehicle. That isn't the case however, it is the Superintendent of Motor Vehicle's way of telling you that you are an unsatisfactory driver and that a prohibition from driving may be in your future.

Motorcycles and HOV Lane Confusion

Bus Lane Only SignI ride a motorcycle and find that some HOV lanes allow motorcycles and some do not. It is frustrating to pass the non-HOV entrance to a roadway only to find that the HOV lane entrance does not permit motorcycles. Can it be changed so that motorcycles are permitted to use all HOV lanes and entrances, in particular that one as I commute over that bridge daily?
