Of all the accessories purchased for our vehicles, lights and reflectors seem to be the most common. I've written about it frequently here on the site as many people's choices are based on "cool" instead of safe, proper and legal. The Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement web site has posted a link to a document that is a guide to the inspection and approval of lights and reflectors.

My tires were looked at by a police officer who was doing a valid license check, he said that one of them had very little tread and that it was a safety issue. He told me that I would have to get my tires changed and go to a proper facility to get it inspected such as canadian tire.

I was pulled over today for no reason and after a long wait the officer gave me a Motor Vehicle Act infraction warning because my driver side window doesn't roll down. I have looked and I can not find this in the Motor Vehicle Act, is this really an infraction?

Last time my mother in law visited from Alberta she took a rock which shattered her rear window of her car. After receiving an estimate from a local glass company she pled instead to cover the window with a piece of plastic (the glass shop did this for her). She is not financially able to have it repaired and now wants to come back for a visit with her car.

Is it legal to install a module that would cause only the high, centre mounted brake light to flash 5 times in the first second, twice in the second second and then stay on for the remainder of the brake peddle application? The operation of the two other brake lights would not be affected by the module.

Back in the "olden days" headlights were made of glass and the only real hazard was breaking the glass. Today the headlight body is made of plastic and the UV radiation from the sun will eventually cloud the lens. This affects both the brightness and the aim of the light you rely on to see.

Radar and laser detectors are currently legal to install in your vehicle and use to avoid prosecution for failing to follow the speed limits in British Columbia. One has to ask why BC is one of the few provinces in our country that has not made this illegal. If you think like I do, inappropriate speed is a significant contributor to collisions and should not be encouraged in any way.

I have restored a 1936 Ford Tudor sedan registered in B.C. and want to replace all the window glass. It has flat safety glass originally and there is a firm who manufactures replacement glass for these old cars. They have various colored glass windows available factory tinted.
