It looks like British Columbia's Immediate Roadside Prohibition (IRP) program is under a cloud again. In this case Mr. Justice B.C. MacKenzie is asked to stay a driving prohibition issued under the program to Tony Van Bree on May 23, 2015. The basis for the action is that the IRP legislation challenge has made its way to the Supreme Court of Canada and a decision on its validity in law is pending.
We are going on a drive through Canada and the US in a large motorhome that only has shoulder strap seatbelts for the driver and co-pilot. All other seatbelts are lap-belts only. My 7-year-old son requires a booster seat when we are in the car, but what do we do in the RV? Front seat? Back seat with booster? Back seat without booster?
It appears that the Abbotsford Police Department is following the lead of other agencies such as TACVictoria with a no-punches-pulled video reminding drivers to yield to pedestrians and not drive while distracted. It could equally well be used to remind pedestrians to watch for vehicles when they use a marked crosswalk.
If I have a dashcam and capture traffic violations and reported them, is it of any use for police to prosecute? If so does it depend on the level severity? What steps or how much involvement would be required of me? eg. appear in court, just sending a video etc.
I recently got a ticket for section 11 MVA while using my demonstration plate. I had my icbc consent card, driver's licence, d plate & a copy of my garage policy. The officer told me I need a copy of the registration in the car as well.
Three swings and three strikes, figuratively speaking. This describes my experience making driving complaints to the police. In each case it appears that there was little interest in following up. In fact, one of the complaints was initially refused by the civilian complaint taker.
Question: I purchased a snowmobile in 2003 brand new from a Skidoo dealership in Kelowna. At that time I registered it with a ICBC and got a sticker. However, I never received any ownership papers. Is there any way to get that paperwork as I want to sell the machine.

Our elementary-school child's booster seat says to check the car's documentation for proper placement; our car's documentation says to check the booster seat manual for proper placement.
I got checked by a road monitor for an oil company and he said I needed a cargo net between the back seat and the front seat. I've never heard of that. He said it was the law in case something loose hit me in an accident. I've never seen a net in another truck and can't find a law that applies
I just received a notice of prohibition in the mail yesterday stating that I am being suspended from driving for 4 months due to my unsatisfactory driving recording and I must surrender my license. I have received 2 tickets in my 10 years of driving, however I still have my 'N', although I have been able to go for my full license for quite some time.
