VIDEO - The Party's Over

VideoThe Australians are are passing the Christmas message that we all have a role to play in reducing road trauma. It's up to you to do your part. Plan how you are getting home from any parties or get togethers, don’t be distracted by your phone, keep your drinking separate from your driving, don’t drive when you are tired and overall – look out for each other on our roads.

VIDEO - Rethink Speed

VideoQuoted from the YouTube video page: Our speed is one of the few things we control on the roads. While speed doesn’t always cause crashes, it always determines the severity of a crash. This is because the speed we travel at creates a force and it’s our vehicle and our bodies that absorb this force in a crash. This means the faster we choose to travel, the more severe a crash will be (whether the crash is our fault or not).

VIDEO - Snowplow Safety

VideoFrom the video description: If you are travelling BC highways during the winter months please be prepared and be aware - drive to conditions and take your time to get where you’re going. Our maintenance contractors are out there clearing our highways and provincial roads to make it safer for those driving on them and so we are asking anyone who is on the road with a snow plow to please steer clear and let them clear the road. It is never safe to pass a snow plow on the right or weave between plows when they are clearing the road.

VIDEO - Reducing Your Risks in the Crash

VideoYou probably never give it much thought, hop in, throw on the seatbelt and drive away. Chances are that if it's your vehicle you don't have to adjust the seat either. I wonder if you've ever read your owner's manual on properly adjusting your seat or your seatbelt? For those of you who have not or don't remember, here's a video from the IIHS to help make sure that you are effectively restrained in the event of a crash. It's the best way to minimize your chance of injury or death if you can't avoid the collision.
