This video is an excellent illustration of the "No Zone," an area around a heavy commercial truck where the driver has difficulty seeing small vehicles. All drivers should view this video as it will change their attitude about sharing the road for good. If you do find yourself in the "No Zone," never spend any longer there than you have to.
There is some good information in that video about the "no zone", but that particular transport in the video would never leave the terminal with me at the wheel, until proper, large convex mirrors had been installed on both sides. After 30 years at the wheel in heavies I see a 6" convex on the left mirror arm and an 8" on the right, both properly positioned and aimed - and clean - as an absolute minimum requirement for a clear peripheral field of vision. This must, of course, in no way abrogate the absolute need for redundant shoulder checks.
