Q&A - Cross Walk Signage

Q&A ImageAt the corner of Johnson Road and Russell Avenue there is a regular crosswalk sign that has been in place for many years. Two years ago, White Rock installed traffic lights along with pedestrian "Walk - Don't Walk" electric signs; but has not taken down the old crosswalk signs.

Q&A - Passing in School Zones

Q&A ImageThe way I was taught to drive in school zones was that there is no passing, even with four lanes, even with people stopping to let someone out, or a cyclist who is doing 20 km/h rather than the posted 30 km/h maximum. However, I have been passed in all three of these instances recently, by people who felt they were well entitled to their actions. This needs some clarification.

Q&A - Another Take On Failing To Keep Right

Q&A ImageI have a question for you and hope you can answer it.

You're driving from Kelowna to Vancouver on the Okanagan Connector. There are two lanes for your direction of travel. The fast lane seems to be pretty clean with bare pavement. The slow lane is covered in snow and doesn't look safe. You have winter tires and everything, but bare pavement always beats compact snow.

Q&A - Are Parking Boots Legal in BC?

no parking signHello, I don't know if this is the correct place to find this out, or perhaps you could suggest where I could turn, but are parking boots legal in BC? I work for a BC college and we are constantly battling improper parking and as a small campus we do not charge for parking and thus have no enforcement. A suggestion was to buy and start using a parking boot for cars parked illegally or in an unsafe manner.
