The case of R v Gray arises from an unsafe passing incident that occurred on the highway near Round Lake. A police patrol that was southbound on the highway observed 3 vehicles abreast approaching. The highway was only two lanes wide for northbound traffic so the third vehicle was being driven between the widely spaced solid yellow lines marked in the centre of four lanes.
Many drivers on the receiving end of a speeding ticket commented that their speedometer reported their vehicle's speed as something different than the radar or laser speed measuring device that I had used. Question: I wonder if you can find any information regarding the rumble strips they cut into the asphalt between lanes. I can see some benefit in them in waking up a sleepy driver, mainly on the side of the road, but like on Hwy 6 from Vernon to Nakusp, there are a lot of corners and this rumble strip is annoying in that most people drive over it, which causes a lot of noise in your vehicle.
