This is a report from Britain that examines the needs of an aging population in the context of our current highway system.
When the Government of Canada put an end to the use of oil based paint for marking highway lines in 2010 the durability that we had come to expect ended. Since that time the Ministry of Transportation and Transit has been searching for and testing suitable replacements.
We are looking to hire a summer student for a summer delivery position with our company. The candidate has a valid learners Alberta license (equivalent to N driver). In February he had his license suspended for 4 months due to an accident to which he lost his N privileges.
This case begins with a street race that took place on August 4, 2008 in Delta. The race ended with one passenger dead and one driver injured. Madam Justice Burke decided liability for the crash on March 24, 2017. She found the driver of the second car involved in the street race 10% liable even though he was not part of the collision and was in police custody when it occurred. What remains to be decided is the amount of damages that the parties are entitled to or will have to pay.
A few of us have recently been discussing whether a certain type of turn is legal or not, with differing opinions. I'm hoping someone here might be able to settle the matter.
There are many intersections with a channelized right turn lane, where drivers turning right are separated by a small island from through and/or left turning traffic. Here's an example of one of these intersections:

I recieved a ticket a week ago for cell phone use while driving. It was my first ticket aside from a parking ticket. On the ticket it also includes a fine for failing to display my N.
If I pay this ticket am I going to be prohibited from driving? Is there anything I can do? I have a job that requires driving.
Sometimes when I read articles on road safety I come across one that really resonates with me. A story from 2008 written by Paul Hergott titled Drivers Need to Smarten Up When Out on the Road is one of them. Paul starts off by saying "We’ve got ourselves a serious attitude problem. We see driving as a right."
The issue is our only traffic light up town by Qualicum Foods. Perhaps I’ve misunderstood the rules of the road at intersections, but I thought if someone was at the intersection waiting to turn left that you (if you are approaching behind them) should let them make their turn and not pass on the right and travel through the intersection cutting off vehicles that may be turning left from the other direction?
