CAR SEAT CHECK - Duncan (Maple Bay Area) April 21, 2013

Booster SeatOver 90% of car and booster seats are used incorrectly – does this include yours?  Misuse rates in Canada are shockingly high, yet a properly selected, installed, and used car seat or booster seat can reduce death and serious injury by 70%.  Many parents are unsure of how to properly use their seats, or don’t realize they have made many unintentional errors.  Everyone is welcome – parents and expectant parents, grandparents, care givers, and day care providers. We can help!

Nationally certified Children’s Restraint Systems Technician Instructor Jen Shapka, with the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada and Vancouver Island Car Seat Technicians is offering a free car seat clinic in Maple Bay on Sunday, April 21st, 2013 from 9:00-12:45, hosted by the Maple Bay Volunteer Fire Hall at 1230 Maple Bay Road in Duncan.

The car seat clinic is the culminating event for new technicians-in-training.  Cowichan Valley children will be safer in their seats, and the new technicians (under supervision) will get hands-on experience working with real parents, vehicles, and car seats.

To register for the clinic visit www.vicarseattechs.com and look for Events on the right hand side.  Appointments are required to guarantee a space but some drop-in space will be available.
